Menu Plan Monday

Monday - Daycare is closed for C's surgery

Tuesday - Picnic Lunch, choice of cheese sandwich or peanut butter, apple slices, nectarines, carrot sticks.

Wednesday - Pizza, cherry tomatoes from the garden, carrots

Thursday - Sausages, carrot & raisin salad

Friday - Restaurant Day, where everyone gets a choice of leftovers. Ham, sausages, pizza, Greek salad etc. Last day of daycare before my holidays.

Menu Plan Monday

This weeks' menu we will be eating lots of veggies, even my small veggie garden is starting to ripen. I have my first ripe tomato and some jalapenos.

Monday - Mixed raw veggies with dip and Pasta

Tuesday - Chicken and veggies

Wednesday - Ham Sandwiches and tossed salad

Thursday - Egg Salad Sandwiches with veggies and dip

Friday - Tuna and fruit salad

Almost There

The construction crew have gone home. Their part of the job is done, and now it is my turn. I will be spending the weekend building a screen to go around the air conditioner, washing away the stone dust and setting up the slides and toys. Monday will definitely be spent playing in the water in the backyard. Make sure to send a spare set of clothes.

Mud, Stone Dust & New Backyard

Sorry for not posting lately but construction is underway in my backyard. Everyone has had fun watching all the trucks and work going on. The backyard is done, the crew is now working on the side of the house. Two more days then all should be complete.

The backyard is wonderful. I am looking forward to spending the rest of the summer enjoying splashing in our yard. I will start up the menus again next week, though with the backyard done, I am guessing it will be mostly simple sandwiches so we can eat outside :)

Nature

Today we went for a nature walk in the neighbourhood. We saw moths, butterflies and a cardinal. Someone had cut down a birch tree and we were able to peel the bark to make paper. Of course we came home with lots of different shaped leaves and shiny rocks.

Planes

Thursday we went to the Aviation Museum and had a great time. The children all made kites and then had fun "flying" a plane. They were allowed to play with the controls and adjust all the wing flaps, turn on lights and generally have fun. Very hands on. Then it was off to watch an IMAX type movie of landing planes in all kinds of situations like fog and snow.

Its A Wrap

I love wraps, you can put anything in them and they are tidier to eat than sandwich for kids.

Today we had shredded chicken breasts that I cooked in the crock pot the night before with beans and salsa. I grated a bit of cheese on top of the filling and voila a yummy wrap.

On the side with had cherry tomatoes and red, orange and yellow peppers and carrots.

Menu Plan Monday Wednesday

Everyone had fun over the long weekend but all the children seem very tired. I know my own children stayed up late to watch the fireworks.

Today we had a simple lunch of ham and cheese sandwiches, grapes and cucumbers. Sorry no pictures today I have to recharge my camera batteries.

Short Week Menu Plan. I believe in living with weather during the summertime. If it is beautiful and we are outside I will switch a hot meal for a sandwich.
